Very well built battery back up sump pump. Just connect to 12 volt battery and worry free from basement floods. Very good to have in every home.

    Easily Installed Backup Pump

Used this new Wayne ESP15 battery backup sump pump to replace a very old (11 to 12 years) Water Ace backup system. I was somewhat familiar with this installation because it was very close to the old design it was replacing.
This new ESP15 has only been installed for approximately 3 weeks but so far everything seem good and I feel confident it will preform well in an emergency situation.

    Pump Failed Without Any Use
    By Rick F.
    Indianapolis, Indiana
    Review Posted 02/25/2016
I just had my second one of these fail within 4 years. It was installed correctly because I did it myself. Followed directions exactly. I made sure no debree (sand gravel etc.) was in the pit when installed. Worked fine when I installed it. I check it every six months by unplugging main pump during rain storm to make sure it works. Tonight it failed and this is my second one. Do not buy this. My main pump is a Wayne and it has been very reliable. The battery backup is a cheap plastic pump which sucks because we buy these to save our basements and there cheap.

I would pay the money to get a quality one but they do not exist. Thankfully, I have never needed one but you put these in for piece of mind. I highly recommend testing your back-up periodically, you might find yours stopped working too. So much for piece of mind.

    Unreliable!
    By Tim

    Review Posted 06/14/2011
I installed this system and a new sump pump after water damage due to a failed sump pump. It took a Wayne engineer to figure out that the float needed to be moved from it's designed location. Then a year later, they told me that I needed a new control box and charger because the system wouldn't hold a battery charge. The cost was almost the same that I paid for the entire system. I would not recommend this if you want reliability or peace of mind.

    No Complaints So Far!
    By Tom

    Review Posted 04/20/2011
I recently installed this back up system. Although things have dried up for the time being, I did pour water into the pit to cycle it a few times and it worked very well.

I only have to lift the water about 5 ft but it drained about 6 gals of water within 3 or 4 secs. I think it pumps just as well as the primary pump i have , which is a good one.

Installation was a breeze, and most people with a little general plumbing knowledge and common sense should have no problem with the install. directions are well written. Now I need to see how well it holds up.

    Defective Wayne ESP15
    By Brian
    Bridgewater, Massachusetts
    Review Posted 07/14/2010
Purchased the Wayne ESP-15 battery backup. The control board was defective X2. The controlled has the pump on all the time regardless of the switch position (Switch works properly) and the battery monitor shows the new fully charged battery as "low". (Cook the new battery much?) Very disappointed with this unit, could not rely on this for an emergency backup unfortunately.

Main Pump Blew Off The Backup Pump
    By Ray
    Marietta, Ohio
    Review Posted 03/28/2010
The first time I needed it something happened. It blew apart and was spinning around in the hole. The basement flooded. Somehow the main pump blew off the back up pump?!
