Extra Long Float Switch

Review Posted 05/04/2023
This product was exactly what I needed. The extra long rod prevents my sump pump from running so much and saves the motor. Delivery was quick. No issues.

Versatile And Well Made

Very nicely made. Rod is metal as opposed to the plastic of most other switches. It is nice that there are adjustments on both the upper and lower limit to allow for more versatile placement of the switch unit. Only draw back is the length of the cord as it is quite long but, better too long than too short!

Flood Ready Now Final Piece of 14,400 Ga An Hour Puzzle In
By Fredrick S.
WAUKEGAN, Illinois
Purchased 09/27/2019 |
Review Posted 10/22/2019
Please keep in mind that I rated everything based on my passed iON vertical float switch because this latest one hasn't been used yet and won't be used until 4 gallons of water a second pumping is needed in the next big one hundred year rain which seems to come yearly now.
After this years flood, I decided it was time to put a fourth pump in and a fourth 1 1/2" pipe out of the house bringing my total capacity to 14,400 gallons per hour. If I ever flood again I will have to blow open the small 18" sump pit and put in a larger one with some real giant pumps which so far for 20 years I have avoided the jack-hammer changes.
Who said 4 pumps couldn't fit in one small pit? Take a look at the pictures.
In the end, I have forgotten why I thought I needed the long iON float switch but it is there and it should work as I consulted with the manufacturer with the fact that I can adjust it to turn on and off wherever I need it to.
Thanks again to Sump Pumps Direct in offering all of the products pictured I needed for my on-going project.

Expert Response
Please keep in mind that having 4 pumps, in an 18" will probably cause the pumps to short cycle and cause a premature failure. We thank you for providing pictures, however we are unable to post them because this isn't a standard application and we can't promote applications like yours to other customers.

Works Great

I purchased a Storm Pro 1/2 HP in 2011 with the supplied 12” vertical float. A few years later l bought the 18” float switch accessories so I could shorten the run time of my pump (by the way is still pumping away). The 18” stem float is a bit pricey but the less run time of the pump usage really adds up during heavy water flow.
