Works As Advertised

Bought in 2010. Haven’t had a problem all this time other than had to replace the two batteries in 2019. Otherwise has worked well during normal operating days and through power outages. Bought two replacement pumps a few weeks ago just in case I need to replace at some future time.

After experiencing flooding of my finished basement due to the failure of my main pump and inability of the backup to keep up with the flow of water I was looking for a better fail-safe solution and the 35ACi seems to fit the bill. Two equal sized pumps controlled by a brain that alternates between them and defaults to the working pump if one fails. Battery back up and an inverter that converts the DC power to run the AC pumps. Two pressure switches that are not mechanical and back each other up. This seems to be the best that you can due with a single sump pit. I just installed the system by myself and it was pretty easy, we'll see how things go- but I'm sleeping a little better right now.

So Far So Good.....

So far, works as advertised. Bought this because I wanted a Backup Pump for when the primary fails, and for a power outage and one that re-charges the battery. This combination isn't common on the battery backup pumps. Most only trickle charge the battery vs charge it as required.
Installation went smooth. Very basic plumbing skills is all that is required. If you can cut PVC pipe, you can do this. The pumps are quieter than the primary pump replaced. What I like about this is in my previous house, the battery backup pump saved me twice from a flooded basement. Not because of a power outage, but because the primary died. This type of operation (active-active) is optimal as it ensures both are going and will alarm if one fails.
Bought two deep cycle lead acid batteries. Putting water in once a year is not big deal. Overall they are cheaper than the gel batteries (and more powerful as well). Not cheap, but overall seems like very high quality components

Great System, Some Instructions Have Gaps

I love being able to see the current water level and set the pump water level. Dual electronic sensors work great and failsafe with dual primary/backup pumps, dual batteries and if both sensors fail it will alternate the pumps if theres any water. Inverter fans are louder than expected - seems like they are just cheap computer fans. Not something you can hear in another room but the run every hour when the power is on. Instructions start with the assumption you know how to install a basic sump pump and really focus on how to setup the sensors, inverter, controller, and batteries. Wish there was a more sophisticated remote monitoring system (ethernet, wifi, or cellular) and it kept the alarm on if the power goes out.

You might want to consider a Home Standby Generator for that extra layer of protection.
