Just installed my Storm Pro sump this weekend. So far no issues. Extremely quiet and pumps out very fast. I believe this is going to end up being a very good purchase.

StormPro 1/3 HP Sump Pump
By Jens

Review Posted 10/19/2011
Combined the StormPro 1/3 HP pump with the Ion Digital 10in float. The pump is very powerful, it flows more than the 1/2 HP pump we had before. Yet, this thing is super quiet. You can hear the water flow, no motor noise. The Ion float works perfect. The one I got actually provides more like 13in of water level difference between on and off. All in all very happy with this combination.

Great Switch! Very consistent

We have a high water table and high influx of water in our sump pit 70% of the year. Our sump cycles anywhere from every 20 seconds to 4-5minutes. The genius builder put a standard size sump crock, so there's not much room in there and it causes high cycle rates. I replace switches in the Zoeller main pump every year or so. I also have a backup pump, it's floor mounted suction type (because there's no room in the pit for a second pump).
Both pumps had high/low floats on a rod, fairly reliable, but not always. Plus I was always fiddling with the hilo set points because they fluctuate quite a bit over time, and the backup float would get stuck...or start coming on before the main pump...or turn off point would go lower than suction inlet and start suckin air....etc...etc..
So I'm trying this switch. So far, it's extremely consistent, turns on at the exact point every time and turns off at the same exact point every time. So you set it at the level you want and it's set for life. Very solid switch.
I do wish it had adjustable range (they do, with their $600 Ion Genesis controller), but, this 10" one works perfect for my pit. It's also small footprint, so it doesn't take up much room in the pit.
So far, I'm very happy with this. It's a pricey switch, but it does exactly what it says.
The only thing left is to see if it holds up over the long haul. After it's been sitting in the water for 1-2-3 years and there's a hard water film and crud all over it, will it behave the same way? Will it work? Only time will tell. $100 is dirt cheap insurance if it holds up over the long haul. I'll report back in year or so, and tell you how she's holding up.

FINALLY A SWITCH THAT WORKS!
By Michael J, Sump Pumps Direct
Bolingbrook, Illinois
Review Posted 09/29/2010
On a daily basis we get phone calls and emails about float switches. Most float switches are prone to failure because they have moving parts parts.
Maybe the float itself breaks or maybe it gets stuck and your pump burns out or you end up with a flooded basement. Something had to be done about that.
Metropolitan Industries decided to do something about switch failure. They have created the world’s first digital level controller for use with residential sump and sewage pumps.
There’s no moving parts or contact points in this switch.
It uses solid-state sensing computer technology that requires no maintenance or cleaning. The switch is also safe to use with inverter based battery backup systems.
This is a switch that can truly change the sump pump industry, we suggest you try one out for yourself.
