Pumps are good and quiet as reviewers said. The “digital” switch is not a solid-state switch like LevelGuard or some others, but rather a diaphragm that is pressure-activated by rising water. Therefore, the pit must be empty (dry) before installation. Unknown how this compares to a mechanical float switch over time.

Pump is quiet and pumps water as expected. Replacing a 7 yeat old zoller with mechanical float. So far so good but really won't be able to speak to the longevity of the pump until it proves that it holds up.

What I like the best is they are really quiet, it is in the corner under a wood floor and I never hear it so I hooked up a little light so I know when it's running. All the other ones I have owned drove me nuts from all the noise.

With my old pump, I could hear it every time it cycled, this one I never hear it run unless i open the pit cover to check it, it has a smaller foot print so it makes more room in the pit .

Purchased pump to replace old 6 year old pump. Have been a Zoeller pump guy for many years and recently had mech. switch issues with one so I wanted to try this pump. Read all the reviews and did some research n my own and settled on this pump and switch system. Pump arrived very quickly and packaging was top notch no worries about damage, pump appears to be high quality and is whisper quite when running. So far i am very satisfied.

Installed this pump with my 12-year old son. It runs quiet, and I'm looking forward to years of dependability from not only the pump but also the digital switch. I'm pleased with the materials (cast iron and stainless steel) and the construction, though the weight is substantially less than 30 pounds as stated on the website (not surprising--how could a 1/3HP pump weight that much?). I left the digital switch mounted on the pump as shown, since (after testing) the on/off levels were perfect for my situation.

Basement has a high water table so I need a switch that activates the sump pump about 15.5 inches from the base of the basin. Looked at the Stormpro with the vertical swith that attaches to the discharge pipe or the Ion switch that may be digitally adjusted to determine when the switch turns on the pump. Would either of these work if I need the 15.5 inches?
Also, I have a 1.5 inch discharge pipe, if I would purchase the larger hosrsepower Stormpro with a 2 inch discharge, and use a reducer, would this hinder the performance of the 1/2 horse model?
Thanks for any advise you can give me.
