Impressive Pump

Finally got the plumber to install this pump. Construction is just like the Zoeller sump pumps I have used in the past but impressively bigger 2”. I opted to install a tethered switch so in the event the switch fails I can still manually run the pump in the sealed pit. I also purchased the Zoeller see through check valve which operates without any thump or noise.
Install was a 3 hour job by 2 plumbers primarily due to changing pipes and rusted bolts on the lid. I expect to get many years of service without any issues from this pump as I have with other Zoeller products in the past.

Seems Like a Great Sewage Pump
By Paul E.

Review Posted 06/21/2019
I am a DIY'er, not a professional. I wanted to replace the old sewer pump (about 12 years old) at my rental house because I was concerned about it going bad in the near future - and it was a perfect time to do it since the house has been empty for a couple of months. I really did not know much about these pumps or how to replace them - but it looked like something I could handle.
So I spent a lot of time reading reviews of pumps. I almost went with a much cheaper pump ($170) until I read some advice on a plumber's website saying a sewer pump is not a good place to save money - you want quality and dependability. Of course he recommended the Zoeller - saying he had replaced cheaper pumps that had problems in as few as three years. He has seen Zoeller pumps last longer than 20 years.
I read some stuff about the technical workings of pumps - the value of a true cast iron body and having real bearings in both the impeller area and the motor - all of which matched the Zoeller.
The replacement process went pretty well. At first I mistakenly mounted the float switch to match the old pump. Because the design of this pump is different than the old one the float would not work with my tank configuration. Lo and behold, when I read the actual directions it showed mounting the float switch to the discharge pipe and that worked perfectly. I am not good about reading directions. Although I did drill the suggested vent hole in the discharge pipe as noted at least three times in the directions.
It is working now - seems pretty powerful and quiet. The lift of my system is only about three feet, so I am hoping for a trouble-free experience.
It seems like a solid, well-built product. It was delivered quickly with no issues. I am pleased with the purchase.

The Perfect Sump Pump
By Rich C.

Review Posted 04/13/2018
This sump pump is replacing my previous Zoeller sump pump, which last over 30 years. I did have to replace the float switch, around 18 years ago. With the longevity of my previous pump, it seemed foolish to pick anything else except a Zoeller. Installation is incredibly easy and the price was right buying from Sump Pumps Direct, which included free shipping.
