water pump
By John D

Purchased 08/03/2024 |
Review Posted 08/27/2024
I had 2 days of thunder storms that produced over 5 inches of rain and pump kept the rain out of my garage both days. My only improvement I would make is to have a float switch so that I would not have to watch it to be able to keep it from running dry thus burning out the pump.

Fast, Quiet And Inexpensive!
By Kenneth K

Purchased 04/11/2023 |
Review Posted 05/06/2023
I got this pump as a replacement for a small sump pump that burned out pumping our greenhouse. The older pump would take 10 - 15 minutes to remove approximately 10 to 15 gallons of water. The Waterbug clears the same amount of water in under 5 minutes, and does it with virtually no noise. Also, since you place the pump directly in the water, it doesn’t require any priming. Also, it is very easy to clean, so should be more durable.

The old pump needed a hose connected to its input connection, which meant the pump would run dry until it could draw water through the input hose. This caused the pump to eventually burn out, as the rubber pump vanes literally melted inside of the case.

Overall, we are extremely happy with this pump. The only “downside” is that it is a bigger unit that needs to be set in the water to be pumped, so won’t work in real tight spaces. Apart from that, this pump is perfect.

Wayne Water Bug
By David U.
Harrison charter Township, Michigan
Purchased 04/24/2019 |
Review Posted 05/16/2019
The pump worked as advertised, no complaints. The first use worked as anticipated. Second use I forgot that it was on and it pumped out all of the water. It continued working without pumping any water and became damaged. It will not work anymore. My question to you is there any residual value to the unit? In other words is it worth sending back to you for repair? I liked the product as it did what I expected it to do. Unfortunately I forgot to turn it off and fried it. Again, is it worth paying to have it repaired? Please advise, thank you.

With these style pumps, if the pump is damaged, you're best option would be to just replace the pump. We are not a servicing dealer and Wayne does not perform repairs on pumps like these.

Works Just Fine

On virtually flat ground It pumped 5 gallons in one and a half minutes using a 75 ft garden hose. Not quite the 1200 gph as advertised. But it does work great.

LoveMyBug!
By Susan A.
Silver Springs, Florida
Purchased 07/02/2018 |
Review Posted 09/18/2018
I've been using my Bug this summer to redirect run-off water that comes into my yard from both my neighbor and the road. The Bug is moving the water some 100+ plus feet from back yard to front (where it can drain to a reservoir) with steady and very consistent action! I'm worried about forgetting one day and leaving it on when the water gets too low (i.e. burning out the motor)...but so far that has not happened, as I simply turn it off when the water reaches the bottom of the pump. It has an amazing ability to suck water that is less than 1/2 inch deep and the most amazing thing, I think, is that is never seems to clog...Though I do pump clear water through it between uses...

I really, really love my Bug!

Good Pump For The Money Until You Need Parts or Service!
By William B.
Tigard, Oregon
Purchased 07/31/2018 |
Review Posted 09/11/2018
Pump works good and was worth the money. However their parts and service department are very poor. I was draining a stock tank and a beaver chewed through the cord. The cord has a special plug on one end that plugs into the pump and is secured with a water tight grommet and a retainer gland, while the other end is plugged into a standard 120 volt outlet. Thus the cord could be replaced easily in the field. I called up The water Bug People and expected to order a new cord so I could continue using my new pump, instead I was told that the only way I could get a new cord was to get a new pump! I was treated to a condescending lecture that this was for my safety. I suspect that the extent of any parts or service that you could get from the manufacturers of this pump, is: You need a part You have to order a new pump. You need service, you have to order a new pump.
