I wrote a previous review titled "Pumps A Lot Of Water". I couldn't edit that one, so here is my follow up. As I said, the pump moves a lot of water. But they have replaced the pump under warranty twice already. The third pump just failed after a month and a half of use. This seal on this pump also failed allowing water into the electrical motor. These pumps are NOT reliably submersible. The first replacement pump they sent me, after the original purchase failed in 3 weeks, worked for several months but quit when whatever bearings they use wore out, allowing the shaft to jump around sideways and stopping the motor. It is only suitable for light/intermittent use. I would not trust this pump to protect anything valuable.

I installed this in my pond and it exceeded my expectations as far as volume of water moved. I powered it with solar panels and it performed very well for 3 weeks. Exactly 3 weeks after installation it quit. Investigated and found that I could hear water sloshing around inside the "sealed" electric motor. Water Pumps Direct customer service was useless, even hung up on me after I waited a full hour on hold. Seems their rep had trouble hearing me so she hung up after saying hello twice. After making me wait an hour she gave me 4 seconds before hanging up on me. Tsurumi Pumps however was easy to deal with and is in the process of getting me a new replacement. Hopefully the seal will not fail on the new one.

I actually use this pump to make duck decoys have alot of movement in my decoy spread. It moves alot of water to make my decoys look like they're alive and have had a lot of fellow hunters ask how. I will be buying a couple more.

Works great. Own a horse farm and we have to do the water once a day. Pump goes in a 400 gallon tank on a pickup truck. Pump puts out a large volume of water to fill all the barrels for the 50 horses on the farm. I usually buy 2 or three pumps at a time to keep as spares.
