Keeps Beeping 2nd One
By Robert D
Illinois
Review Posted 05/21/2023
The unit keeps beeping, 2 plumbers have tried everything. 2 new marine batteries. Still beeps. Turned off circuit for 24 hours to reset. Ridiculous for a $2,000 system.

I Sleep Better
By Patrick F.

Review Posted 08/10/2020

Installed this system along with twin ION 33 Sump Pumps just in the past 2 weeks and I've slept better and worried less about water in my basement then ever before. Just had a Chicago wind/rain storm blow through and it worked like a charm. Lost power briefly and the SUMPRO kicked in, sounded an alarm, and after a short delay ran my pump. Power wasn't out for long so I can't comment on total runtime on battery power.
I have my Comcast Modem & Wireless Router connected to the SUMPRO system and it provided WiFi for the short time the power was out.
Not inexpensive but after messing around with various arrangements battery of Backup /Dual Pump Systems I think I've found the best solution short of a Whole House Generator at a fraction of that cost.

Excellent Backup Unit
By Philip P.
BROOKEVILLE, Maryland
Purchased 07/31/2017 |
Review Posted 08/22/2017
I was first introduced to the existence of the SUMPRO when, several years ago, I sought quotes to update our basement water-handling. The most credible quote included the original version of the SUMPRO. While we didn't upgrade at the time, the SUMPRO was always the unit I wanted.
Now, with the newer model, I finally "took the plunge", and am very happy I did! The unit, in spite of its weight, was shipped and received with no damage to the shipping boxes so common these days. Installation was easy, and the unit worked flawlessly.
One note to new owners, is that the charge indicator doesn't generally go to 100% mine stabilizes at about 95%. I called the manufacturer, and confirmed a range of 92% - 98% is normal, at full capacity. I'm guessing this is to accommodate a wide variety of battery types, with the capacity gauge measuring only voltage.
While I also have a 12V backup system, I really wanted a 120V backup too. A stand-by generator is noise-prohibitive per local ordinances, so battery backup is what worked best for me.

Browsed the internet and found your site. I called and spoke with Jim in support then Phil to finalize order. I had questions for both and they were very quick to get back to me the same day to answer all my questions.
It was a pleasure to deal with both gentlemen.

Needed a Reliable Power Backup
By Jeffrey K.

We never know when the power might go out due to a severe storm passing through. But now with this in SUMPRO unit in place we can breath a little easier knowing that our sump pumps will continue to function even if the power does go out.
I installed two Rigid 1/2 HP sump pumps with 1, 1/2" inch discharge and both pumps can pump at capacity at 10' feet over 3850 GPH each. That's 7700 GPH combined.
With the Sumpro System added, my run time is 48 hours non stop and 72-80 hours on an intermittent cycle between both pumps operating.

Terrific Product
By Mike

The SUMPRO is an excellent product for homeowners looking for a reasonable alternative to reliable backup power (for the sump pump primarily, but also for other things) that doesn't cost an arm-and-a-leg or require a clumsy generator or refills of propane tanks. The only maintenance needed for it is to check every 5-7 years that the marine batteries (two) are still holding their charge, and if not, to replace them.
I keep mine in the basement where of course the sump pump is hooked up to it. It has already activated once or twice during local power outages to keep the sump pump running. This is especially critical during heavy rains when the pump turns on every minute or two. But the device has two outlets, so you can easily run an extension cord elsewhere in the house and power whatever else you want (up to 1500W or so), such as a TV, computer, or a few lights, if the house is without power for an extended time. Even the refrigerator for a few minutes to keep things cold. Or perhaps more important, some critical medical equipment that might be needed.
A key design feature of the SUMPRO, unlike the "cheaper" unit I had earlier, is that it has a pass-thru power path, which works even if the marine batteries are dead. In other words, the sump will run on house power even if the batteries are dead. I learned this lesson the hard way last year when we had a lot of rain, but the backup power unit sat there like a brick, dead as a doornail. And the sump pump, plugged into it, also sat dormant as the water rose out of the sump pit and onto the basement floor. When I unplugged the pump from the brick and into the wall (the house power was on), it started up and emptied the basement in just a minute or two. Needless to say, that was the end of the "brick", and I understand the manufacturer is out of business!
SUMPRO a breeze to hook up (buy the batteries with the package and the support table, since when everything is together, it's very heavy). When I first started it up, coincidentally we lost neighborhood power within a few seconds of my plugging it in the first time. The wife said "what did you do?" I said, "Nothing!" The unit blinked and switched its red light on (as it should have) and purred along. After a few seconds of standing in the dark, I grabbed a nearby lamp and plugged it into the SUMPRO and poof, we had light. It was the only light working in the house - and the neighborhood - for about an hour! Thereafter, I was a committed fan.

Product Questions
Answered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
Is the SumpPro a pure sine wave inverter charger? What is it's surge capacity? Can it handle a 1/2 hp zoeller submersible sump pump?

First your website is great. I have a question about auxiliary power sources. My situation is we had power outage this weekend during very heavy four hour nonstop rain storm. I have a dual sump pump system and also a battery backup sump pump. So a three sump pump system. Everything worked fine until the power loss the power was off for seven hours. Then the single battery backup sump pump was a life saver. It kept up with the water flow, but I was concerned how much longer the battery charge would last? The good news I was home to monitor the situation. I want peace of mind that my finished basement does not flood if had not been home. My question is how can I extend my battery backup sump pump for at least 24 hours or longer? What would you suggest? Look forward to your reply.
