Meh

It's fine. It works. It's very loud. It's very expensive. And, only Burcam will service it. So, we had a plumbing company come out and install it. If it stops working they won't fix it.

Worked Once, Then Died

I bought this product to put in the wall of a remodel I was doing. The pump was supposed to be delivered within a few weeks and was delayed several times before it arrived. Once it arrived, I immediately had my plumber return to install the pump. It did not take long to install and we tested the pump before putting the PVC attachments on permanently. The pump worked, but started to smell like burning rubber and it soon became hot on the outside. Fearing we had connected it incorrectly, we removed the pump and tested it using a water source and the pump would not turn back on. I am reqesting a refund for the pump.

Very sorry you experienced issues with this pump. Based on your description of the installation, it may not have been installed correctly. Nicely Made Pump That Does The Job!

One of the only type of pumps that I could find to use for my utility sink install. There are similar looking brands but they didn’t look as sturdy as the Burcam. Had to call their customer service in Canada ( the unit is made in Canada) for some clarity on mounting the unit directly to the threaded drain on the sink. Their rep told me he had to find out and would call me back, which he did. Very pleasant to deal with. So far pump seems fine and well made. No leaks like some others had reported. I tightened all screws before mounting, just in case. I did add a support to the mounts on the motor to keep the weight off the drain since the unit weighs about 15 lbs. One suggestion I had followed from others was to buy a better quality check valve since the one that comes with the unit seems cheap.

Overall, Satisfied.

Bought to replace another brand of under-sink pump. Install went pretty smooth, only adjustment was to lower the exit pipe to level with lower height of exhaust side pipe on the BurCam. Otherwise reused all the unions, valves, and stop valve of prior installation.
I found the pump to be, in my opinion, much quieter then the old one and just as capable pumping the waste water up the necessary approximate eight feet to the soil pipe. Only difference is, as mentioned often, the pump does not completely empty the sink it leaves from a eighth to one inch of water in the sink basin. The amount not pumped varies that much from pump-out to pump-out, it is not a constant amount but varies each time.
Overall, I find the BurCam to be acceptable for our use as a pump for the basement located laundry sink especially at the savings of about seventy dollars over the cost of the last brand. Yeah, it would be better if the pump-out did not leave the small amount of water in the sink, but I could find no way to prevent it, and you can use the palm of your hand to apply pressure and get the pump to activate down to about a quarter inch or so if it really matters.
Oh, the only problem I had was after installing the pump it leaked quite a bit. Found it was leaking at the connection between the pump and the pressure switch housing. Simply unscrewed the housing, re-taped the threads, reinstalled the housing, and no leak.

Ball check valve inadequate. Installed pump under cabinet with limited space no room for union the ball check valve leaks and the water backs up into sink. Checked with customer service told check valve not able to keep seepage out. In order to get pump out I have to disconnect at sink and spin entire pump off. Problem is not resolved and I'm losing money on this install, still don't know how to correct problem and apparently you don't either very displeased and losing money can anyone there help.

Pump itself leaked due to missing volute screw and cheap plastic fittings constantly dripped with water pressure. A failure as a utility room sink pump.
