CHECK VALVE

Review Posted 10/11/2023
The check valve was leaking and we tried to tighten it up and it still leaked. Went to a local supplier and bought a new check valve. Didn't have time to deal with a replacement part from the manufacture. The unit works very well. I have installed several of these and recommend them to anyone.

Good Solution For Basement
By Sean M
Kentucky
Review Posted 12/20/2022
We installed it 18 months ago, but the motor went out. Burcam said the warranty is 2 years, so it's covered. Otherwise, it's a decent pump.
My recommendation is that when you install it, make sure you can both access the back of the unit as well as the outlet it connects to. The outlet should be GFI and the breaker could pop. Easy access means easy reset. Also, we put that outlet on the same circuit as the light. So if the GFI pops, the light doesn't come on, which warns us the GFI popped.
Lastly, and most importantly, the access panel to the back makes servicing a breeze. When our motor went, the plumber could access it in minutes without having to tear open the wall.
Also, the floor is sectional planks, which will make it easy to remove the tank, should the need ever arise.
I've seen some poor reviews here. They seem to be based on the idea that this would never break. Be realistic. It's a pump. It's mechanical. It will eventually need servicing/replacing. If you plan/design accordingly, the inconvenience is minor. The trade-off is worth it as it allowed me to put a bathroom in my basement when I otherwise couldn't.

So the product itself is exactly what I needed, but when it was delivered the box was smushed and it was already opened and missing a Pipe and just can tell it was used or opened.

It was an easy install! It works great ! I’m worried about the pump or float switch going bad? But I’m relying on their quality? I’m satisfied so far!

Product Questions
Answered by Jim, the Sump Pump Expert
Can an extra pump be purchased?
Karl
from Kentucky
August 12, 2023
I've had this unit for about a year with great success. In the past month or so once the pump turns on while in the shower or flushing the toilet and it begins to pump the water out to the septic tank. It won't turn off unless I hit the pipe attached to the pump. Any ideas to prevent this from happening. I ran the shower for an hour a few times thinking maybe some waste is keeping the float from falling back down. Not sure what to do next.
Thanks,
Jeff

I have one of these Bur-Cam systems in my basement but the tank has cracked and is leaking. I would like to replace it but the unit shown in this picture shows the sink/shower inlet on the right and mine is on the left. Is that a different model #? If so do you know what it is and do you sell it?

Just curious on the reliability of this unit, i have seen some not to favorable reviews on other web-sites regarding this particular model especially the pump motor. What is your professional opinon ? I plan on using it in my basement (man cave) but do not want it smelling like a cave, if you know what I mean. Thanks for your insight.
