Still Running Strong After 14+ Years
By Greg O
Illinois
Review Posted 03/08/2024
I purchased a 2-pump Turbo system after multiple storms combined with power failures left my AC pumps literally dead in the water, resulting in a badly flooded basement. I have a lot of groundwater and my pumps run many times a day even in dry weather.I've had this unit for over 15 years now and it is still running strong. I've only had to replace one sensor, and the pumps themselves (which generally last a few thousand hours).
The support has been great the company stands behind their product any time I've had a question or an issue. The automated alerts are also awesome.
This was the best solution for my needs when I bought it and I still don't see anything better on the market. Admittedly the initial price is higher than most but this product has paid for itself many times over.

First rate back up system. It can actually pump out more water than my primary pump. Email alert feature adds extra peace of mind. Highly recommend this product.

High Quality Pump With Great Features

I bought this pump as it has a superior battery charger and the pump itself is as powerful as my main pump. I like the fact it gives you a report on the status of the unit and the condition of the battery. You just need to tell it if is a wet cell or AGM battery. I tripped the float and "whoosh" it sucked out the pit in a matter of 5 seconds. I have only had the unit a month so I will have to provide another update down the road when it has more age on the unit. I am sure I made the correct choice. Also if you live in Illinois you can go the manufacturer in Elburn for service.

Installation Was Straightforward. Test Still To Come.

I installed it Jan 2017. Installation was straightforward and install instructions were adequate. The test for the unit will come in the summer when AC power goes out and my sump pit becomes Niagara Falls. Then the 1/2 HP motor will need to push all of 3400 GPH.
The software and logic board is impressive. I like the 2 self tests a day. I wish the written instructions about the unit's operation had more pictures and was easier to follow. For the price of the unit, that should certainly be enhanced.

This system has a 120 volt pump that operates on normal 120 volt AC power, unless there is a power outage, at which time it switches over to battery power and uses an inverter to convert 12 volt DC current to 120 volt AC current. Once installed, you will not have to worry about backup sump pump system problems and failures associated with cheaper and/or weaker systems.
It will operate on any 12 volt auto or marine deep cycle battery, however, the run time and battery life will be less than if the "required" battery size and type are not used. The computerized battery charger is the best I have ever seen. The system is expensive, but it is well worth the extra cost.

I needed a reliable system to prevent basement flooding during power outages and/or primary pump failure while away. This system meets every requirement I have plus many more. Very happy with all the extra monitoring and self test features included with the NexPump system.

Expert Response
Thanks for providing a picture of your installation. These NexPump systems a really the next step up compared to what you would find a big box retailer. In regards to your installation. If you're noticing a decrease in output from your backup pump, you many want to install a standard check valve. You will lose some output using a quiet check valve on a DC (backup) pump compared to using it on a AC (primary) pump. These NexPumps are pretty powerful so might not even notice the difference.

All I can say about the company is wow! This system is well thought out, does what they say, and passed every in home test I've tried. Customer service from the company was excellent answering any questions I've had super fast! Every time we have a storm and the lights flicker I send my neighbors pictures of buckets that I can bring them if they need. Don't wait until it is to late!
